VicinityBuzz 1.1
Device: iOS Universal
Category: Social Networking
Price: $.99 -> Free, Version: 1.1 (iTunes)
Description:
Use VicinityBuzz to see what is being posted on social networks anywhere in the world. It's the fastest way to get live coverage of events or breaking news unfiltered.
Enter the location of a conference, sporting event, breaking news or anything else interesting and see up to the minute posts on social media networks.
Use the current location button to see what people are posting in your area.
New in version 1.1: Follow links, mentions and photos in an in-app browser.
Hashtags are great, but they rely on people using them, and mean that anyone can post about an event. Use VicinityBuzz when you want to see only what the people who are live on the scene think of an event.
No account is needed, since you are searching publicly available posts.
VicinityBuzz allows users to search social networks by address, latitude / longitude, or the current location of the phone. Publicly available posts that are geotagged within a configurable radius of the selected location are shown.
Currently, twitter and flickr are supported. More features and networks are coming soon.
What's New
Profiles, Photos and links are all hyperlinked now. Users can configure the number of posts returned by the application. Streamlined UI a bit.
